What you need to book the interview

  1. Main page of your passport valid for at least 3 months after your projected leave from the Schengen zone and having minimum 2 empty visa pages.
  2. Schengen zone country name where you plan to spend most of the time during your European trip.
  3. Estimated period of stay in Schengen zone.

What you need at the interview

  1. Original passport valid for at least 3 months after your projected departure from the Schengen zone and having minimum 2 empty visa pages.
  2. Two photos (45x35 mm) taken not longer than 3 months ago in color with full frontal view of the face with white background.
  3. Valid document confirming your legal status in the country: permanent resident card (PR Card), work permit, study permit with academic transcript or valid multiple entry visa.
  4. Schengen visa application form filled out and signed in line with the instructions by the consulate which you attend interview at.
  5. Airline and hotel stay booking print-out to Schengen country and back to US or to your next destination, rail tickets or other.
  6. Emergency medical insurance copy, which covers your entire stay in the Schengen area. Minimum coverage must be not less than EUR 30,000. If you do not have one, get your SCHENGEN Emergency Medical Insurance here.

Documents usually required at the time of the interview for TOURIST visa applicants

  1. Hotel reservation print-out covering complete stay in Schengen area.
  2. If your next destination after Schengen zone is some third country then the copy of your visa or residence permit to enter this country.
  3. Proof of employment or enrollment letter from a university or school.
  4. Proof that you have enough money for the whole trip.
  5. Your last 3 bank statements that carry your name and address.
  6. If your case requires to have a supporter, then you need to provide declaration of the formal obligation, his/hers passport copy together with last three banking statements. Supporter's signature on this declaration must be certified by a notary public if supporter is not able to attend the interview with you.

Documents usually required at the time of the interview for BUSINESS visa applicants

Plus to the above requirements for tourist applicants

  1. Letter from your employer stating your position in the company, the length of employment along with the reason for the trip, statement, that company covers cost of the trip. In case you are a student, then enrollment letter from your university or college stating the reason for the trip. In case you are self-employed: you need to bring a proof of your business registration.
  2. LOI (letter of invitation) from your business contact in the Schengen country confirming the business nature of the trip and schedule of the visit including the name and full address of the contact person in this Schengen country.

If you are self-employed then you must provide last three bank statement of the business accounts.

Documents usually required at the time of the interview for PRIVATE visa applicants

  1. Signed LOI from your host, determining the dates of stay in Schengen country.
  2. Clear passport copy of the host.
  3. Financial obligation letter with the signature of the host.
  4. Proof that you are currently employed or enrollment letter from a university or school.
  5. Proof that you have enough money for the whole trip.

Important

You can not attend Schengen visa interview earlier than 3 months before the actual entry into Schengen zone.

Interview will be conducted at the consulate which is taking care of your jurisdiction.

The date and time of the interview is determined by the availability.

If there is no interview spots available during your preferred date and time the next available spot will be booked.
